FEEL BETTER MAC & CHEESE

Yields: 1 Serving

This dish always make my daughter feel better when she is sick! This is a dish I make when my daughter is sick. I make this dish, because it is the only dish that I make that has this amount of salt in it. When you are sick you need more salt than normal so that you can replenish the liquids you may have lost being sick!

  • Boil noodles until they are almost done. Drain and set aside.
  • Put your butter into your pan. While you wait for it to boil, mix your flour, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika together. Then set it aside.
  • Once your butter is boiling, you need to add your flour mixture. You want this to come back to a boil.
  • Once it is boiling again, reduce your heat and simmer it for 2 minutes stirring constantly. (you are cooking the flour to activate it to thicken up)
  • After two minutes of string, add your half & half. Mix until all lumps are gone.
  • After the lumps are gone, add the rest of your milk. Bring back to a boil.
  • Cook for about 15-20 minutes. OR until it is very thick.
  • When the sauce is thickened up, you will want to take it off the heat and add the cheese. MIX MIX MIX
  • You want to combine the noodles and cheese sauce.
  • Preheat your oven or air fryer to 350 degrees.
  • Cook for 25 minutes or until the top is brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  • Let rest for about 10 minutes before you dig into it. The cheese will need time to thicken back together before you eat it. This will ensure two things: 1. you will not burn yourself, and 2. the cheese will stick to the noodles and not run all over the place! ENJOY!
