Deer Taco Recipe

The story of my happy accident of making deer tacos! Have you ever tried to make deer burgers, but they did not work out as panned? Well, this is my story! I tried to make deer burgers but should have known that without too much fat in it, that they just would not have stuck together! BUT instead of tossing it, they made AMAZING, tasty tacos! Come along for the adventure!
Servings: 6 yield(s)
Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 20 mins
Total Time: 35 mins
Ingredients
  • 1 carrot
  • 1/2 onion (whatever kind you like)
  • 15 oz can of black beans
  • 1 lb ground deer meat
  • 2 egg
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp oil or butter
Instructions
  1. heat your oven up to 350. Drain and rinse your black beans. Once you drain out your excess water, you need to lay them flat on a baking sheet tray. Cook them for about 10-15 mins in the oven to dry the beans out so that your tacos are not soggy!
  2. While the beans are drying out in the oven, you want to cut up your veggies into small pieces. The carrot and onion should be small pieces.
  3. Once the beans are done, let them cool for a moment. Once cool mix all of the ingredients together except for the oil. Do NOT over mix, because it will be tough and dry!
  4. Add the oil to your skillet. Heat your skillet up over medium heat.
  5. Once your pan is warmed up, add the mixture in. Stir constantly until it is done and no more pink meat or blood is left!
  6. I put this on sour dough bread, because I did not have any tortillas left. HOWEVER, this is perfect to top with salsa, cheese, cilantro, sour cream, and enjoy as some of the best tasting AND unique tacos EVER! ENJOY!
Recipe Notes

If you wanted to make deer burgers, you just need to add a binder! This is a high protein recipe as well so if you cannot have this much protein just omit the black beans.. or the deer meat making black bean tacos! Either way it would taste wonderful!
